PART 2 · LESSON 18 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
The Venue
Saturday the twenty-fifth of September, a week late. In Kyoto, Miss Morita shows Ben and Yui three reception venues, a big hotel, a restaurant on the river and an old house with a garden. Learn to compare, with yori and no hō ga, hodo … nai (not as … as), and no naka de ichiban (the most, of all). Talk about price, size, a view, a garden and the menu, decide, and at last read the estimate.

THE STORY
Saturday, the twenty-fifth of September, a week late. The typhoon has gone, and Kyoto is washed clean. Miss Morita meets Ben and Yui at the station with a folder and a plan. Three venues in one day. A big modern hotel, a restaurant on the river with a view and a price to match, and a small old house with a garden, on a quiet street in the east of the city. Ben does the maths. Yui looks at the garden. And on the train home, Ben finally reads the estimate. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
