PART 3 · LESSON 26 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
The Ceremony
Ten o'clock on Tuesday the twenty-third of November, the Shinto wedding at the shrine in Kyoto. The procession under a red umbrella, the priest's set words, the three cups with real sake, the vows and the exchange of rings, which are missing for a moment. Then congratulations outside, the first "my wife", and the family photos under the red leaves. Understand very formal Japanese, say your vows, say what was it again (kke), and survive a missing ring.

THE STORY
Ten o'clock. The procession walks slowly along the shrine path under a big red umbrella, the families behind, the autumn leaves above, and Kenta watching from the gate. Inside, the priest's voice is very old and very calm. The sake is real this time, and Ben bows at the right speed. Ben and Yui say their vows. Then it's time for the rings, and Sota, who showed them to Ben ten minutes ago, pats his pockets. Outside, Daichi arrives late, Kenta calls Yui Mrs. Ben, and Miss Morita lines both families up for the photos. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
