The First Day

Sarah's first day as a paid nurse at the clinic. Doctor Ruiz has a list of things she needs her to do, and Lupita has a list of her own. Understand and give instructions with "I need you to" and "I want you to", politely and to friends, offer to help - do you want me to? - and talk about the uniform, the shift, the files and the schedule.

THE STORY

It's Monday, the fifth of January. At ten to eight, Andres leaves Sarah at the door of the clinic. Inside, it smells of coffee and disinfectant, and Doctor Ruiz is waiting in her office with something for her. At three o'clock, the doctor calls her back.
