PART 1 · LESSON 9 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
We Laugh at Everything
Pepa takes Sarah and Julian to the Carnival in Cadiz, where the whole city wears a costume and the street singers make fun of everyone, including two Mexicans and an omelette. Ask what are you dressed as?, say that's cheating, you're so witty, we laugh at everything, I'm in stitches, are you pulling my leg?, and it doesn't matter.

THE STORY
It's Saturday, February 26th, eight in the evening, in the old town of Cadiz. The narrow streets are full of pirates, nuns, bananas and at least four Spanish prime ministers, and on every corner a group of singers in matching costumes sings a funny song. Pepa, Rosario's sister, meets Sarah and Julian outside the market in a white coat and a blond wig. The singers on the corner have a verse ready for them. At three in the morning, they walk back to Pepa's house by the sea. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
