PART 3 · LESSON 24 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
Breathing Is for Summer
On Thursday April 27th, two days before the lights of the Fair go on, Sarah and Emily go to a dress shop in Triana for their first flamenco dresses, where the shop assistant has strong opinions about how tight a dress should be. That evening, Encarna has a surprise for Sarah's mother, and Sarah's father finds a hat in his guidebook. Say can I try it on?, how does it fit?, it's a bit tight, you look like a real Sevillian, it fits perfectly, and name the frills, the polka dots, the shawl and the flower.

THE STORY
It's Thursday April 27th, eleven in the morning, two days before the lights of the Fair go on. In a small dress shop in Triana, the racks are full of flamenco dresses in every colour, with frills from the knee to the floor. Sarah and Emily are standing in the middle of the shop, not sure where to start. The shop assistant, a woman of sixty with a tape measure round her neck, takes one look at them and pulls a dress off the rack. That evening, in the patio, Encarna brings out a dress of her own for Sarah's mother, and Sarah's father finds a hat in his guidebook. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
