PART 1 · LESSON 1 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES Free
Nobody's Getting Me Out of Here
Moving day. Sarah and Julian carry everything up to the top-floor flat they painted in April - a new washing machine, a sofa that won't fit and a hundred-odd boxes of books, with no lift until the autumn - and spend their first night on the terrace. Speak the language of moving house - give me a hand, this weighs a ton, mind the corner, what have you got in there, you should have thought of that before - and say you're here to stay.

THE STORY
It's Wednesday, July 4th, 2029, eight in the morning, before the heat, in Encarna's building in Pureza Street. Moving day. In April, Sarah and Julian painted the top-floor flat - white walls, and one indigo-blue wall, the blue of Julian's village. Now everything they own is going up, two floors from their old flat on the second floor, and a new washing machine four floors from the patio, where the shop left it. The lift won't be ready until the autumn. Pablo has come to help, two weeks after his wedding, back from Greece, on an ankle that has only just healed. That night, Sarah and Julian sleep in their new home for the first time. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
