PART 2 · LESSON 13 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
The Envelope
Lucia and Pablo come to dinner with a secret they've kept for a week. They've got a date - a Wednesday in June, at Saint Anne's - and Julian discovers that a Spanish wedding works very differently from a Mexican one, starting with the present, which comes in an envelope. Say we've got a date!, it falls on a Wednesday, a gift list, what your place costs plus a bit, that would be rude, we want you to be our witnesses, and what Encarna says when she hears shouting on the stairs.

THE STORY
It's Thursday, March 22nd, 2029, nine at night, in Sarah and Julian's kitchen. Sarah has the night off. Lucia and Pablo have come for dinner, with a bottle of wine and a secret they've been keeping for a week. Before they've even sat down, Lucia can't hold it in any longer. Ten minutes later, Encarna comes up the stairs, because she heard shouting. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
