PART 2 · LESSON 20 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES

What Have I Missed?

On Friday, Encarna gets her first passport at seventy-seven, in ten minutes. On Saturday night, the night before Palm Sunday, Lucia and Pablo call from Tokyo, and everybody in Encarna's patio tells them what they've missed - a wedding decided, a passport, a hospital and a lot of food without salt. Get through a passport appointment, ask what have I missed?, say I wouldn't miss it and I'm as good as new, and review everything from the second part of this level.

THE STORY

It's Friday, April 7th, ten in the morning, at the police station, and Encarna has an appointment for her first passport. Julian has brought her in a taxi. Then it's Saturday night, the night before Palm Sunday. In Encarna's patio, Sarah, Julian, Encarna and Manolo are around the table, with the laptop propped up against the water jug, and in Tokyo, at six on Sunday morning, Lucia and Pablo are up early for a train to Osaka, still in pyjamas. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
