Two Thousand Years Ago
On Sunday, the morning after a night of dancing with Lupita, Sarah visits the ancient Zapotec city of Monte Alban, on a mountain above Oaxaca, with a guide. Understand a guide, ask who lived somewhere and how they built it, talk about thousands of years and thousands of people, ask if you can climb, and say what you can see from the top.

L’HISTOIRE
It is Sunday, October nineteenth. On a flat mountaintop above Oaxaca there is a city of stone, with pyramids, plazas and temples, built by the Zapotec people long before the Spanish came. Sarah went dancing with Lupita last night, until two, and her legs know it. She joins a small group with a guide in a wide hat. He has told this story a thousand times, and still loves it. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
