PARTIE 1 · LEÇON 3 SUR 30 · 40 MINUTES
The Weavers' Village
On Mother's Day, Julian takes Sarah to Teotitlan, the village of weavers where his family lives, to meet his grandmother at her loom. She has already heard all about the American nurse. Guess about the present with the future - it'll be my uncle, he must be starving, who could that be? - and talk about rugs, looms and natural dyes.

L’HISTOIRE
It's Sunday, the tenth of May, Mother's Day in Mexico. Teotitlan del Valle is half an hour from Oaxaca, a village where almost every family weaves wool rugs by hand. Julian has brought Sarah home for the family lunch. In the courtyard there's a huge wooden loom, and at the loom sits his grandmother. She's eighty-nine, she speaks Zapotec better than Spanish, and she has never left the valley. But she knows all about Sarah. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
