L’HISTOIRE

Saturday March twenty-first, at eight in the evening. Valeria arrived from Guadalajara last Sunday and will return tomorrow. Sarah has cleaned three times and borrowed six chairs from Chayo. Elena brings both her promised mole and a mountain of tamales. The repaired water works, Pilar comes as invited, and the party lasts until two in the morning.
