PARTIE 1 · LEÇON 4 SUR 30 · 40 MINUTES
Not Out Loud
On the night of Saint John, Pepa takes everyone to the beach in Cadiz, where people write their wishes on paper and burn them in bonfires - as long as nobody says them out loud. Make wishes with the subjunctive - I hope, I wish, may they come true - and spend the shortest night of the year the Spain way, from the bonfire to the freezing sea.

L’HISTOIRE
It's Friday, June 23rd, the night of Saint John, eleven o'clock, on a beach in Cadiz. All along the sand, bonfires are burning, and next to each one sits a rag doll, waiting for midnight. Pepa has brought a bag of paper and pens, Lucia and Pablo have brought a guitar, and Sarah and Julian have brought nothing, because nobody told them. At midnight, the papers go into the fire and everyone goes into the sea, and on the walk back, Julian wants to know what Sarah wished for. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
