PARTIE 1 · LEÇON 4 SUR 30 · 40 MINUTES
Here We All Say You
On her first day at the school of midwives in Seville, Sarah calls a young colleague by the polite "you", and gets laughed at. Learn when Spain uses the friendly "you" (almost always), Spain's words at work - a midwife, the delivery room, the ward, scrubs, a shift on call - and how to get shown around a hospital.

L’HISTOIRE
It's Monday, September 13th, seven forty-five in the morning. The Virgen Macarena hospital is a huge white building on the north side of the old city. In a small classroom on the third floor, eight midwives in training sit in green scrubs, drinking coffee from plastic cups. Sarah comes in, five minutes early, in her ironed Oaxaca uniform. A young woman with curly hair waves at her, and soon shows her the delivery room. That evening, on the balcony in Triana, Julian wants to know how it went. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
