Always Welcome

On Friday, January second, Sarah's last day in Merida, Rosa makes a farewell lunch, Sarah gives back the hat Rosa lent her, and Tomas drives her to the three o'clock bus to Oaxaca. Say you can't believe something, thank someone for everything, say what someone has been to you, say they're always welcome, invite them to visit, and say you'll miss them.

THE STORY

It's Friday, the second of January, Sarah's last day in Merida. Her backpack is ready by the door, with Rosa's huipil folded on top. Rosa has made cochinita for an early lunch, and Tomas has come home to eat with them. At two, Rosa says goodbye at the green door, and Sarah gives back something she still has. At ten to three, at the bus station, it's Tomas's turn to say goodbye. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
