PART 3 · LESSON 30 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
The End of Summer
On the first night of autumn, Sarah and Julian sit on the roof of her building and look back at everything that happened since May, and forward to December. Say the summer's over and how fast it went, say if you'd told me, I wouldn't have believed you, make a wish for the autumn, sign up for dance classes, say you don't believe someone, and review the whole of Intermediate Level Two.

THE STORY
It's Tuesday, the twenty-second of September, the first day of autumn. Sarah and Julian are on the flat roof of her building, with two chairs, a candle and the bottle of mezcal Don Fermin gave Julian on Saturday. The rains have stopped for the night, the air smells of wet earth, and somewhere below, a band is practising for a wedding. Sarah asks Julian for something hard, and Julian has an answer ready. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
