PART 3 · LESSON 26 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
I Wish I'd Come Sooner
A year to the day since Sarah decided to stay in Mexico, she and Julian climb a hill above Oaxaca at sunset and look back. Say a year ago today, say what would have happened if you hadn't come, say I wish I had and I wish you had, ask if someone regrets anything, and talk about the best and the hardest moments of a year.

THE STORY
It's Monday, the thirty-first of August, the last day of Julian's holidays. At sunset, Sarah and Julian have climbed the long stairway of the Fortin hill, above the city. Below them, Oaxaca is turning gold, then pink, then blue. Sarah has been quiet all the way up. Today is an anniversary, and only she knows it. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
