PART 3 · LESSON 24 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
If I'd Known
On Sunday in Puerto Escondido, the sea turns rough, the fishermen pull up their boats, and a tropical storm heads for the coast. Say what you would have done if you'd known, talk about a rough sea and a storm warning, help get the hotel ready, and get through a night without power, by candlelight.

THE STORY
It's Sunday, the sixteenth of August. At seven, Julian is on the beach for his surf class, just as planned, but Mateo is looking at the sea. By the afternoon, the sky over Puerto Escondido has turned a strange yellow-grey, the sea is brown and wild, and Don Chuy is carrying planks of wood to the windows of his hotel, with the radio on loud. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
