PART 3 · LESSON 26 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
Your Turn to Be the Guests
Elena and Don Roberto fly in from Oaxaca for Lucia and Pablo's wedding, and for the first time Sarah is the one opening her door to them. Speak the language of a host - welcome, let me look at you, make yourselves at home, now it's your turn to be the guests - refuse a guest's help, and hear where Spain and Mexico say things differently.

THE STORY
It's Thursday, June 14th, 2029, two in the afternoon, at Seville airport. Outside, it's forty degrees. Elena and Don Roberto, who welcomed Sarah into their family in Oaxaca, have flown all night, changed planes in Madrid, and come out through the sliding doors with three suitcases, one of which, Elena says, is only for presents. They've come for a week, for Lucia and Pablo's wedding. Six months ago, in Oaxaca, they were the hosts. Now it's Sarah's turn. She has been waiting for an hour, with a sign she made herself. At six, in the flat in Pureza Street, Elena wants to help with dinner, and Sarah won't let her. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
