PART 3 · LESSON 27 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
Not Even If They Paid Me
On the Friday night of the April Fair, Encarna decides it's Sarah's father's turn to dance, and he has a lot of ways of saying no. Say no way, not even if they paid me, as if it were so hard!, as if it were my last dance, that's blackmail, if you film it, I'll disinherit you, and that doesn't count, and find out whether blackmail works in Seville.

THE STORY
It's Friday May 5th, the sixth night of the April Fair, eleven o'clock. The tent is packed, the guitarist has started a new set of Seville dances, and Sarah's mother has already danced three with Julian. Sarah's father is sitting in the corner with a plate of ham, hoping nobody notices him. Encarna notices him. Then comes the dance, the applause, a message from his mother in Boston at two in the morning, and what happened the last time he danced, at a wedding in 1985. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
