Tell Me About Yourself

Two years after her own job interview, Emma is on the other side of the desk. Someone has answered Hugo's ad, and the children's classes need a teacher. Ask polite questions with the would form of the verb, say what someone would need to do, and give someone the job.

THE STORY

It's Thursday the ninth of September. Someone has answered the ad Hugo put on the school's website, and at two o'clock, a young woman knocks at the dark green door. Two years ago, Emma sat on the other side of the desk, at her own interview with Nathalie. Today, she's the one asking the questions. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.

In this lesson, you’ll learn to

Ask "could you tell me about your experience?" and "could you show me?"
Say "you'd need to be free on Wednesdays" and ask "would you be free on Saturday mornings?"
Say "I lived in Dublin for five years" and "over there, I worked in a school, with children"
Say "I missed my family" and "children aren't afraid of making mistakes"
Say "I'd be delighted to work with you" and "I'm not going to make you wait"
Say "the job is yours!", ask "could you start on Wednesday?" and say "two years ago, I was the one answering the questions"
