Happy Birthday, Darling

It's Emma's thirty-first birthday, and her parents land at Lyon airport. Hugo, who doesn't speak a word of English, greets her father in English, and Emma can't believe her ears. Then the airport tram, and Madame Garnier's guesthouse. Say you're glad someone is here, with the special form of the verb after a feeling, pass on what someone says, and ask since when.
