THE STORY

Friday the twenty-fourth of December, in the flat above the Old Port. In the morning, Gerard kneels at his crib, a whole village of little clay figures, and Emma looks for the bus driver. At seven the doorbell rings, and Hugo's big brother Nico fills the doorway with his wife Samia and their two little girls. Then the big supper of Christmas Eve, seven dishes and no meat, and at eleven the thirteen desserts of Provence come out, one after another, because everyone has to taste all thirteen. They say it brings luck. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
