THE STORY
Tuesday, December the seventh, twenty twenty-seven. Yui has the day off, and Ben has the morning. At nine they are at the ward office with the marriage form, his papers from the Canadian embassy, and, though Ben doesn't know it yet, his passport. The clerk has questions about katakana, signatures and Yui's surname. Then, on the steps outside, Yui phones her mother. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
