PART 1 · LESSON 1 OF 30 · 33 MINUTES Free
Three of Them
Sunday the second of January 2028, the first lesson of this level. Hugo stayed the night at the studio, and at nine the laptop is open on the ads for a flat for two. Two bedrooms, a lift, no more than twelve hundred euros, and three fit. The agency is closed on Sundays, so Emma leaves a message, Hugo remembers he has to give notice too, and tomorrow the Petits must be told. Say there are three of them and I've found one with a lift, with the little word that stands for of them, and say it doesn't say, it's closed on Sundays, shall I leave a message, could you call me back on Monday and I have to give notice too.

THE STORY
Sunday the second of January 2028, nine in the morning, Emma's studio in the Croix-Rousse. Twenty-five square metres, two cups of coffee, and Hugo, who stayed the night, with the laptop on his knees. The year is one day old, and the search begins in the ads of an agency at the top of the hill. Two bedrooms, a lift, no more than twelve hundred euros a month. Three fit. At eleven, Emma calls the agency, and a machine answers. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
