PART 3 · LESSON 24 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
It's a Good Sign
The night before the wedding, a storm hits the valley and the power goes out. Wake someone up, ask "what if the marquee doesn't hold?", talk about the thunder, a leaking roof, a generator and candles, hear why rain the night before a wedding is a good sign, whisper your own "what ifs" in the dark, and at three in the morning, hear the two fathers settle who pays for what.

THE STORY
Friday, the night before the wedding, two in the morning. Everyone went to bed early, and nobody is asleep. Then the first thunder rolls down the valley, and the rain comes all at once, like a bucket. The lights go out, and the whole house ends up in the kitchen, by candlelight. Later, back in bed, with the rain still on the roof, Bia and Daniel whisper in the dark. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
