Every Five Minutes
Two in the morning, two days before the due date, and it has started. Say "every five minutes" and "how often?", give and take urgent orders, "breathe", "hurry up", "don't run", leave the dog with the neighbour, get to the maternity hospital, and call everyone at three in the morning.

THE STORY
Two in the morning on Tuesday the fourth of December, in the flat in Botafogo. It's thirty degrees, the fan is on, and the city is quiet for once. The bag for the hospital has been packed by the front door for a month. The baby is due on Thursday, and everyone says first babies are late. Bia sits up in bed, and puts her hand on Daniel's shoulder, quite hard. Ten minutes later, the lift stops at the seventh floor, where Dona Marta is already at her door. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
