PART 2 · LESSON 17 OF 30 · 30 MINUTES
White Day
Tuesday, the fourteenth of March, is White Day, when men in Japan give something back for February's chocolate. Ben has three return gifts, for Yui, for his class at Tsubame Travel and for Aya, and Kenta has told him the rule. Learn to receive and give humbly (itadakimashita, sashiagemashita), what to say as you hand a present over (hon no kimochi desu), and when the plain moratta and ageta are enough.

THE STORY
Tuesday, March the fourteenth, twenty twenty-eight, White Day. In Japan, women give chocolate in February, and a month later, men give something back. At seven in the morning, Yui asks Ben if he has forgotten. He hasn't, and Kenta has told him the rule. At ten to nine, after his first class since the email, Ben thanks his students at Tsubame Travel for their chocolate, humbly, and hands over a box of sweets. Then he tells Mister Fujita. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
