PART 2 · LESSON 18 OF 30 · 30 MINUTES
Natsuki
Saturday at the Hanaya. Missus Sato has hired a young woman for the front desk from April, without asking Kenta. Natsuki is twenty-six, from Hokkaido, and trained at a big hotel in Sapporo, and on her trial day her polite language is perfect. Kenta's isn't, and she tells him so, very politely. Learn the respectful form that looks like the passive (Sensouji ni ikaremasu ka, nanji ni kaeraremasu ka), and the humble go- with itashimasu (oheya ni goannai itashimasu).

THE STORY
Saturday, March the eighteenth, twenty twenty-eight. Missus Sato has asked Ben and Yui to the Hanaya to meet someone, and Kenta doesn't know who either. It's Natsuki, from Hokkaido, who will be on the front desk from April. Missus Sato hired her without asking Kenta. At three, the guests arrive, and on her trial day Natsuki's polite language is perfect. Kenta's isn't, and she tells him so, politely. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
