PART 2 · LESSON 12 OF 30 · 32 MINUTES
I Put It in the Cupboard
Sunday the fifth of March 2028, the twelfth lesson of this level, the morning after the housewarming. Six o'clock, Hugo singing in the shower and Rose through the floor; seven, the party's dishes in the sink, Emma's lesson plans all over the table and a coffee pot that has to stay out; half past seven, a list on the fridge, who does what; and at noon Linda, up at five in Chicago, with her question for every new couple, so, life together? Say I put it in the cupboard, with the agreement you hear this time, and I told you yesterday, with two little words before the verb.

THE STORY
Sunday the fifth of March 2028, six in the morning, the flat on the slopes. Through the bathroom wall, Hugo is singing; through the floor, Rose is about to. In the kitchen, the dishes of the housewarming have slept in the sink, Emma's lesson plans cover the table, and the coffee pot is nowhere to be seen. By noon there is a list on the fridge, and Linda, up at five in Chicago, wants to know everything. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
