Five Months

Saturday the twenty-ninth of April 2028, the nineteenth lesson of this level. Eight in the evening, dinner at the flat. Emma invited Chloe, then Karim and Yanis, separately, and all three arrive together. At nine, Karim knows a little too much about the driving test, and Chloe blushes again. At ten, with Yanis asleep on the sofa, Karim and Chloe have something to tell. Say you hid it from us for five months, with two little words before the verb in the past form, and we've wanted to tell you for a long time, with two before the second verb.

THE STORY

Saturday the twenty-ninth of April 2028, eight in the evening, the flat on the slopes. Hugo has cooked, the table is set for five, and Chloe, Karim and Yanis, invited separately, arrive together. At nine, a detail about the driving test that only Chloe could have told Karim, and a blush. At ten, Yanis asleep on the sofa, a strawberry tart on the table, and the news, five months late.
