PART 2 · LESSON 17 OF 30 · 30 MINUTES
I'd Like the Floor
The residents' meeting, in the party room downstairs. The lift is the first item, and under any other business, Mauro, a lawyer from the ninth floor, complains about a baby who cries at night. Then Dona Marta, who complains about everything, asks for the floor. Speak at a formal meeting, "I'd like to ask for the floor", "whoever is in favour, raise your hand", "the motion is carried", and be polite the formal way, with "I would like".

THE STORY
Tuesday the eighteenth of June, twenty thirty, half past seven in the evening, in the party room downstairs. It's the residents' meeting, and Dona Rosa has stayed upstairs with Alice. Dona Vania, who runs the building for the residents, has two items on the agenda, the lift and any other business. Under any other business, Mauro, a lawyer from the ninth floor, has a complaint about a baby who cries at night. Then Dona Marta, who complains about everything, asks for the floor. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
