PART 2 · LESSON 12 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
Please Find Attached
Thursday, report day. Daniel sends the new director a two-line email, without the attachment, and gets back a formal one, copied to Sao Paulo. Paula shows him how a Brazilian work email is written, from the greeting to the sign-off, and he tries again. Open, write and close a work email, "as agreed, please find the report attached", "I look forward to hearing from you", and know when to sign off with kind regards, and when with a hug.

THE STORY
Thursday the twenty-fifth of April, twenty thirty, two minutes to twelve, at the office. On Monday, Fernanda asked Daniel for the month's report by noon on Thursday, for the Sao Paulo office, and he has just sent it, in an email two lines long. Ten minutes later, her answer comes back, formal, and copied to Sao Paulo, and Paula reads it out over his shoulder. Then she pulls her chair over, and shows him how a Brazilian work email is written, from the first line to the last. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
