Thursday, and Daniel gives Fernanda his answer about the Northeast, in the little meeting room with glass walls. He says yes, with conditions, and she has one of her own. That evening, Dona Rosa hears what she wasn't supposed to. Set conditions in a negotiation, "I'm in, provided that I'm back every Friday", "on condition that I don't have to move", and tell apart the two meanings of one little word, "since" and "provided that".

THE STORY

Thursday the sixth of June, twenty thirty. Last night, at the kitchen table, Daniel and Bia talked it over in whispers. At ten this morning, in the little meeting room with glass walls, Daniel gives Fernanda his answer. It comes with conditions, and Fernanda has one of her own. At half past seven that evening, Daniel whispers the news to Bia in the kitchen, and Dona Rosa, who wasn't supposed to know, hears every word.
