The One Who Wasn't Ready

Alice's first day at the daycare, with the gentle start Brazilians call the adaptation, an hour with her parents and then an hour without them. Alice is fine. In the corridor, Luana, collecting Maria from the room next door, finds Daniel. THE STORY

Monday the first of July, twenty thirty. Dona Rosa went home yesterday, and today is Alice's first day at the little daycare two streets from home. At three, in the babies' room, Cris explains how the first day works, an hour with her parents, then an hour without them. At four, Bia has a meeting with Sao Paulo, and Daniel waits in the corridor. At ten to five, Luana comes to collect Maria from the room next door, and finds him there. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
