PART 3 · LESSON 25 OF 30 · 33 MINUTES
The Doctor Recommended That I Travel Less
In the middle of Fernanda's meeting, Daniel goes white and puts a hand to his chest. Paula takes him to hospital, the tests come back normal, and the cardiologist has a diagnosis Daniel didn't expect. Say what you're feeling, "I've got a pain in my chest", understand a doctor's careful Portuguese, "I recommend that you sleep more and travel less", and report his advice with the verb moved into the past, "the doctor recommended that I travel less".

THE STORY
Thursday the twelfth of September, twenty thirty, the week after Daniel's second trip to the Northeast. At ten, in Fernanda's meeting about the new office, he stops in the middle of a sentence and goes white. At half past eleven, in the emergency department, a cardiologist has the results. And at noon, in the waiting room, Bia is waiting for him. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
