PART 3 · LESSON 23 OF 30 · 33 MINUTES
Since You're Going Every Month
Daniel's first Father's Day. A card from the daycare with a little blue handprint, Bia's father in Belo Horizonte and Tom in Chicago on video, and that night, after a week on her own, Bia has something to say. Say "since" the Brazilian way, in speech and in a meeting, "since you're going every month, we need to get organised", "given that we both travel", and put the one who did something in the spotlight, "the one who asked was your mother".

THE STORY
Sunday the eleventh of August, twenty thirty, Father's Day in Brazil, and Daniel's first. He came home from the Northeast on Friday night. At eight, Bia comes into the kitchen with Alice on her hip and an envelope from the daycare. At noon, Chicago calls, and Tom has practised a line. And at ten that night, with Alice asleep, Bia has something to say. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
