PART 3 · LESSON 23 OF 30 · 30 MINUTES
I Feel We Only Meet at the Airport
Saturday the twenty-seventh of September, twenty thirty-one, in Botafogo. Alice has coughed all week. At noon, the neighbour from downstairs comes up with chicken soup and, for once, no complaint. At six, Alice's doctor, on his way to a night shift, says it's a cold, and writes down what fast breathing means. At nine, at the kitchen table, Daniel's wife says a sentence that starts with I feel, and tells him about a day he never heard about. Say "I haven't come to complain", "if she breathes fast, call right away", "I feel we only meet at the airport", "when you travel, I'm left with everything" and "I thought you were coping".
