PART 3 · LESSON 21 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
Nobody Panic
The permit for Paco's beam has come through, and the lift is finished, a month before Christmas. The president of the residents makes a speech, Encarna cuts the ribbon and takes the first ride, and it doesn't go quite to plan. Speak the language of a small ceremony and a small emergency - a few words before anything else, make it short, without further ado, I declare it open, the honour is yours, just in case, we're stuck, nobody panic, I can't breathe, you're just too nervous.

THE STORY
It's Tuesday, November 27th, 2029, seven in the evening, in the patio of Encarna's building. On the ninth, the permit for Paco's beam came through at last, and the lift is finished, a month before anyone expected. Its doors are shining, and across them is a red ribbon that the president bought specially. All the neighbours are there, with Manolo, who has brought a tray of small glasses of sherry. The president has written a speech. It is two pages long. Encarna is holding her sewing scissors. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
