PART 2 · LESSON 17 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
It Must Have Been About Three
Sarah's first night shift at the hospital, with Ivan. At three in the morning, a young mother's baby is in trouble, and at dawn, on a bench outside, Sarah and Ivan try to piece the night together. Guess about the past, it must have been about three, something must have happened, you must have been very scared, and talk about the ambulance, the heartbeat, the cord, a caesarean and calling for help in time.

THE STORY
It's Saturday, January 16th, just after dawn. Sarah and Ivan sit on a bench outside the hospital, in their blue uniforms, too tired to talk. It was their first night shift on the maternity ward, and at three in the morning, a young mother's baby was in trouble. The obstetrician, Doctor Salinas, comes out with two coffees. At nine, Julian is waiting at the gate. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
