PART 3 · LESSON 25 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES

In the Meantime

On Monday morning, Sarah tells Doctor Ruiz herself that she's going to Seville for a year, while Lupita and Tono pretend not to listen in the corridor. By the next Monday, Tono's cousin has come to learn the job. Say in the meantime, until you leave, as soon as I'm back for a visit, ask who'll take your place, leave everything in order, and hand over your work.

THE STORY

It's Monday morning, March 1st. The clinic hasn't opened yet. Doctor Ruiz is in her little office, with her reading glasses on the end of her nose and a pile of files. Sarah knocks on the open door. She wants the clinic to hear her news from her, and from nobody else. Out in the corridor, Lupita and Tono are pretending very hard not to listen. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
