PART 3 · LESSON 22 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
Not a Peep
On Thursday, December 6th, a holiday, at lunch at Encarna's long table, Lucia and Pablo announce what half of Triana already suspected - and Sarah can finally admit she knew. Then Pablo phones his mother, before she hears it from someone else, and finds out who told her first. Speak the language of good news - we've got some news, we're going to be parents, what wonderful news, congratulations, you knew, didn't you, I didn't say a peep, at last I can talk, she's expecting - and all the questions people ask an expecting couple.

THE STORY
It's Thursday, December 6th, 2029, Constitution Day, a holiday. Two in the afternoon, downstairs at Encarna's long table. Sarah, Julian, Manolo, Lucia and Pablo are there, with a pot of Encarna's stew in the middle of the table. Lucia hasn't touched her wine. Pablo can't leave his napkin alone. When the stew is served, Lucia puts down her spoon and looks at Pablo. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
