PART 3 · LESSON 29 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
More Sevillian Than the Giralda
On the second-to-last night of the year, Encarna starts a game at Manolo's bar. She says the first half of a saying, and everyone has to finish it. Speak the language of a game, and look back at the year in sayings - let's play, I'll start and you finish, your turn, I know that one, you got it wrong, whoever gets it wrong pays, you've just made that up, tell me who you walk with, more Sevillian than the Giralda.

THE STORY
It's Sunday, December 30th, 2029, ten at night, in Manolo's bar. Tomorrow night, everyone will be at home with their families, eating twelve grapes. Tonight is for friends. The whole group is round the big table - Sarah, Julian, Encarna, Lucia and Pablo, Emily and Curro, back from Boston this afternoon with frozen ears, and Nerea and Alvaro, who have stopped studying for one night. Encarna taps her glass with a spoon. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
