PART 3 · LESSON 24 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
A Year Already
On Tuesday, December 18th, their first wedding anniversary, Sarah and Julian have dinner on the terrace and look back on a year of marriage - the decision to stay, a new flat, a new job, and an exam still to come. Then Julian brings out a small box, Encarna comes up for her tablecloth, and Elena calls from Oaxaca. Speak the language of looking back - happy anniversary, who'd have thought it, you do exaggerate, the best thing, the hardest thing, if you had to do it again, I wouldn't change a thing, here's to many more.

THE STORY
It's Tuesday, December 18th, 2029, ten at night, on the terrace of the top-floor flat. A year ago today, in Julian's village, Sarah and Julian got married in front of four hundred people and a band. Tonight it's just the two of them - a small table, two candles in jars, a heater, and the Giralda lit up over the roofs. Julian has cooked, which is rare. Encarna has lent them her best tablecloth, which is rarer. Sarah lifts her glass. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
