PART 2 · LESSON 20 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
Busy Hands
On the night of February 1st, Sarah makes fifty tamales in Dona Chayo's kitchen, while Julian checks his email every five minutes. Say you can't stop doing something, tell a friend to get started, say how many are done and how many are left, and look back over the whole second part of this level, from the balcony in December to the interview in January.

THE STORY
It's Monday, February 1st, at night. Tomorrow is Candlemas, and Sarah has to bring fifty tamales to the clinic. Dona Chayo's kitchen is full of steam, with corn husks soaking in a bowl, a mountain of dough, and a pot of red mole. Sarah has dough up to her elbows. Julian sits at the table with his phone, which hasn't left his hand for three days. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
