PART 3 · LESSON 23 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES
Under the Cushion
On Monday, December 10th, a researcher from Lima asks the Archive of the Indies for a document that, according to the catalogue, is there - Leonor's second letter, the one Julian and Ortega never found for their book. It isn't on the shelf. Julian knows where to look, and then Ortega, on the phone from Rome, tries to remember. Speak the language of losing and finding - we've got a problem, it's not in its place, I've looked for it everywhere, as if the earth had swallowed it, maybe it's been misfiled, who was the last to see it, where could I have put it, it's always where you least expect it.

THE STORY
It's Monday, December 10th, 2029, eleven in the morning, at the Archive of the Indies. Julian is in his office, on Ortega's chair, on Ortega's faded green cushion, which nobody has changed. It's time for the staff coffee. Instead, the archivist comes in without knocking, which she never does, holding a request form. She's pale. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
