🇪🇸 Spanish · Fluency Level 3

PART 2 · LESSON 11 OF 30 · 40 MINUTES

Back to My Homeland

It's Tuesday, March 5th, and the posts are chosen online, in the order of the list. At ten, Sarah chooses the delivery ward where Rosario taught her, and Alvaro follows her. At noon, Nerea types one word. On Thursday, Encarna's heart doctor has his say about the flight to Mexico. Choose, and say why - have you made up your mind, why that one and not another, because that's where I learned to be a midwife, I'm going back to my homeland, I didn't think twice - and hear what a mother means when she says she's peeling onions.

THE STORY

It's Tuesday, March 5th, 2030, ten in the morning, at the kitchen table of the top-floor flat in Triana. Today the posts are chosen online, in the order of the list, and each group of numbers has a set time. Sarah's and Alvaro's turn is at ten, and Nerea's is at noon. Julian is at the laptop, Encarna has come up with the biscuits, and nobody knows yet what Nerea will choose, Seville or Bilbao. On Thursday, eight days before the flight to Mexico, Sarah takes Encarna to her young heart doctor. This is the conversation you'll be able to say by the end of the lesson.
