THE STORY

The family's pier at the end of the soi, at first light. Tee brings Jack to his father, who runs the pier and its three long-tail boats. Uncle Chai speaks to Jack plainly and says Uncle for I; Jack keeps the polite word and calls him Uncle Chai.
