The Trays
The house behind the pier the week before the wedding, Grandma and Aunt Oy teaching Jack the procession trays: Jack, you carry the sweets tray; both hands, never put it on the ground; and if my arm hurts? then it hurts, don't put it down; you must walk behind Uncle Chai; when they shut the gate, you must smile; must I pay? you must, but don't pay a lot: must, don't and never.
