PART 3 · LESSON 28 OF 30 · 30 MINUTES
The Broth
Aunt Oy's stall at five on the Monday morning, the pots and the charcoal, Jack's mother with a notebook: teach us how to make the soup; bones first, then wait an hour; how do you know it's done? When it smells good, it's done, write it down; Mom asks how much fish sauce; watch my hand, I've never measured; Mom will make it herself every Sunday; the recipe is the family's now: how to, and teach someone to.
