The First Tuesday
Jack's first Tuesday at the reading circle in the public library in Khlong San: tonight the circle has a new reader; a foreigner reading Thai tales, this I have to hear; start the way every tale starts; once upon a time, long ago; slower, we have the whole evening; there was a frog living in a coconut shell; one day the shell cracked; good, your long vowels are long: how a tale opens.
